About

Boston Snowboarding is a non-profit organization dedicated to growing the sport of snowboarding in Boston. Snowboarding in the city can be frustrating with police, traffic, and rainy weather. But there's nothing more rewarding than shredding a crusty Northeast spot and living to tell the tale and getting all the homies hyped on it.

Not Just a Hobby, its a Workout

Snowboarding is a cardio intensive workout which keeps the heart and lungs healthy. On average you burn about 450 calories in just one hour while snowboarding. It also works muscles like your quads, calves, muscles around your ankles, and your core. Who knew you could grow a six pack by gliding through snow?

Snowboarders always say they're stoked and there's science to back that up. Like any other workout snowboarding releases endorphins which chemically make you happy and ready to take on other challenges in life. On top of that you can also improve your flexibility and strengthen your patience and concentration when learning those new tricks.

Shred and Destroy.

The most important part of snowboarding is having a good time. Why else would you throw yourself backside down a 30 stair handrail? You enjoy it. It's a thrill that is incomparable to anything else. Whether you're just starting out your life in snowboarding rolling down little hills or have been boarding for 20 years the whole point is to have fun. Snowboarding is for everyone. Period. Get stoked!

We hope through Boston Snowboarding we can improve the snowboarding community. We hope to do this by bringing everyone closer together with meet-ups, events, and sharing everyone's videos and medias that comes out in Boston. We already have such a great community already and great shops around that keep this sport alive and for that we are eternally grateful.

New to Snowboarding?

Boston Snowboarding would love to see more and more riders come into the scene in Boston. So we're being proactive about it. Boston snowboarding has knowledgeable and trained riders who can give lessons to new riders or anyone who is just looking to sharpen their skills. Taking a lesson allows new riders to learn the fundamentals and safe practices much faster than if they were to go out on your own. Often times a lesson doesn't have to be at a big expensive mountain. They can be taught at local hills in the Boston area. To learn more or to book a lesson email us at lessons@bostonsnowboarding.com,
